Kelly Clarkson has covered Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Do I Wanna Know’ on the latest edition of her ‘Kellyoke’ segment and fans from both sides are shocked that not only did she do the song justice, but that she also is very well aware about who the band even are.
On her show, Kelly has been diving into a few more genres than as per usual. We’ve seen her step into the more alternative and indie realm of music, which is a bit more away from her usual pop side of things and the occasional country song or three. She’s included songs by Blink-182 and The Offspring as well as now, The Artic Monkeys.
As reported by NME, Last week, Maya Jama shared her rendition of Arctic Monkeys‘ ‘When The Sun Goes Down’ on karaoke.
She took to Instagram as she said: “They removed it off tik tok so I’m trying a ting here lol – this has beeeen my karaoke song.”
Meanwhile, Arctic Monkeys gave ‘The Car’ track ‘Big Ideas’ its tour debut at one of their gigs in Brisbane.
The band recently toured Australia and New Zealand, with headline shows booked between festivals, including Falls Festival and Lost Paradise.
While there’s no news to say if this is all part of some kind of promotion for the band, it was nice to see some people outside of the genre take a big go at covering their music. It especially helps when it’s covered well. As of now, the band have not yet said anything and it’s hard to say if they will, but surely, they are pleased with the results.
