A bit of this news has flown around various “newsy” sites so you might have read this, but here’s some album and tour news for Miles. I’d like to comment a little bit on what I’m expecting from this album based on what’s been put out there as well. The real details are at the bottom.
First off the Give Up video which we already told you about is out so go check that link. What I find funny is that it’s not even playable on mileskane.com for me (but should be on our site) Maybe it’s country restricted? Secondly the link it drops me on is the video for “Come Closer”. Terrible social. Come on it’s 2013. I’m also not exactly sure the lyrical direction of Give Up as there’s a whole lot of vitrol for someone who seems to be a happy lad. Kind of like how Justin Bieber’s “believe” video he talks about how hard his life was prior to being discovered at elderly age of 14. Next up is the black leather outfit they’re trotting out. Yikes. Miles fashion sense, like his music, is either a total hit or a total miss. My impression is not one of negativity however. I think it’s great he gives it a go. Some people, like myself, don’t even try. I just wouldn’t have chosen that. After that is the album title: “Don’t forget who you are”. I haven’t Miles, but thanks for asking. Like the lead track “Give Up’ there’s this impression I get that there’s something at odd’s here in Mr. Kane’s life.
I may be pulling stuff out of thin air, or reading too deeply, but I am a little suspect right now about the sophomore solo effort. I’m hopeful because I want to believe there’s someone out there still giving a shit about making music and testing the bounds for what is good and also bad, but sometimes to find the greatness you have to put out a few stinkers. This might be the stinker. I hope I’m wrong.
