Body Language Expert Criticises Meghan in Melbourne
Meghan Markle has faced renewed scrutiny during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to Australia after a body language specialist criticised what she described as the couple’s physical demeanour during a hospital engagement in Melbourne. The comments were made after the Sussexes visited the Royal Children’s Hospital, where they met patients, posed for photos and took part in an activity in a garden area.
During the visit, Express reported that Dr Louise Mahler said Meghan “grabs hold of Harry’s upper arm and hangs on like a tiny helpless waif,” and described the couple’s public warmth as “dreadfully and shockingly incongruent” given wider controversy surrounding them.
The article also quoted the hospital’s chief executive, Dr Peter Steer, who said the stop was “a genuinely meaningful visit” for staff and young people receiving care. A second US-based body language commentator, Dr Lillian Glass, was cited as criticising Meghan’s manner during a later engagement at a women’s refuge, where the Duchess was pictured wearing an apron while serving lunch.
The Sussexes’ Melbourne appearance comes as attention remains on their official schedule, following earlier Britpop News reporting on the couple’s planned four-day programme in Australia across major cities and charity visits.
Prince Harry and Meghan have not publicly responded to the body language claims. Their tour has included meetings with community groups and charity organisations, with further engagements expected as they continue their visit.
