Britney Spears’ sons ‘absolute gift’ as she enters rehab
Britney Spears has entered rehab for substance abuse, with the singer’s sons Sean Preston and Jayden James described as a major source of support as she seeks treatment following her recent DUI arrest. The development comes as the 44-year-old has spent more time with her sons in Los Angeles over the past year, according to a source close to the star.
In an account attributed to an insider, Page Six reported that Spears’ sons have helped her emerge from what the source described as a “spiral” and that her decision to enter rehab was “100 percent” her own.
The source said the relationship between Spears and her sons has been “wonderful” as they have reconnected, adding that spending quality time together has been “an absolute gift” and “the biggest joy” for the singer. The insider also said Spears is focused on being “the best mom and daughter and human” she can be, while taking time to concentrate on herself as she is currently single and not working on any immediate projects.
The latest update follows earlier Britpop News reporting that Spears entered rehab after a DUI charge, after she was said to be due in court in May.
The source cited by Page Six added that Spears is not making plans for after treatment, emphasising that she needs time and space to feel fully herself again. It remains unclear whether her sons will visit during her stay, with the insider describing the early stages of rehab as a period for counselling and determining what support she will need.
