Prince Harry recently claimed that Prince William “erupted” at him ahead of a major event, and the reason for his anger is rather surprising via Express.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot married in 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, with William by his brother’s side. However, Harry stated that they had a significant falling out before the ceremony.
On his wedding day, Harry was permitted to sport a beard, a concession Queen Elizabeth II had not extended to William.
Military regulations typically mandate a clean shave when wearing the Blues and Royals. However, Harry managed to obtain special consent from the late Queen, a decision that allegedly sparked William’s anger.
The saga is detailed in Harry’s explosive autobiography, Spare. He recounted his request to the Queen: “And yet I now dared to make another ask Granny, please, may I, for my wedding, keep my beard? Not a small ask either.
“A beard was thought by some to be a clear violation of protocol and long-standing norms, especially since I was getting married in my Army uniform. Beards were forbidden in the British Army.”
After learning of the Queen’s approval, Harry claimed William “became livid”, accusing him of placing their grandmother in an awkward position, saying: “You put her in an uncomfortable position, Harold! She had no choice but to say yes.”
As reported by Harry, the disagreement over his beard continued for over a week, with William allegedly insisting that Harry shave it off.
In response, Harry claimed to have said: “For the love of God, Willy, why does this matter so much to you? ‘Because I wasn’t allowed to keep my beard’.
“Ah, there it was. After he’d come back from an assignment with Special Forces, Willy was sporting a full beard, and someone told him to be a good boy, run along and shave it. He hated the idea of me enjoying a perk he’d been denied.”
