Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were criticised on Sky News Australia after King Charles’s state visit to the US, with commentators contrasting the monarch’s diplomatic programme with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent trip to Australia. The remarks came as the King wrapped up four days of engagements in the United States alongside Queen Camilla.
Presenter Danica De Giorgio said the King “delivered one of his finest speeches” to a packed US Congress and suggested the Duke of Sussex “could learn a thing or two” from his father’s American tour, Express reported.
Sky News contributor Ms Louise Roberts also drew a comparison with what she described as the Sussexes’ “phony” or “faux royal” style appearances, arguing that the King’s role was to represent Britain rather than personal interests.
