Prince Harry stayed in California while his big court case against The Sun was happening in the U.K. Instead of going to court, he focused on the wildfires in Southern California and met with firefighters helping to stop the fires. Meghan Markle visited victims of the Los Angeles fire recently. She took photos with teen girls affected.

On January 21, the Salinas Fire Department posted photos of Harry with firefighters and two support dogs, Cruz and Taffy. These dogs help firefighters and people affected by disasters. The fire department said meeting Harry lifted their spirits and reminded them how important teamwork is during tough times.
In the photos, Harry is seen smiling with the dogs, petting them, and talking to firefighters. Harry loves dogs—he and Meghan Markle have two, a black Labrador named Pula and a rescue beagle named Mamma Mia. Sadly, their other beagle, Guy, recently passed away, and Meghan shared her sadness on Instagram.
The Daily Mail reported that Harry also met firefighters from South Dakota who came to California to help fight the wildfires. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety later shared on Facebook that Harry spoke with them in private, without any media around.
Harry and Meghan have spoken out about the wildfires. On January 9, they posted a message on their Sussex.com website, saying how many homes, schools, and families were affected. They also encouraged people to help. Meghan even delayed the release of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, from January 15 to March 4 to be respectful during this crisis.
