Ingrid Seward Says Balmoral Is Key for Sussex Meeting
Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, could be offered a discreet summer meeting with King Charles at Balmoral, according to comments attributed to royal author Ms Ingrid Seward. The suggestion comes as the Sussexes have not visited the UK together as a family in recent years, while discussion about reconciliation has continued in the background.
Ms Seward argued that Woman & Home reported she believes Balmoral is the “only” realistic location for a low-profile get-together because the King has more time there during his annual summer break and the estate has separate cottages that could accommodate the Sussex family.
In the same account, Ms Seward said a Balmoral visit could allow King Charles to see more of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, noting that the children have rarely spent time in the UK. She also suggested the timing could be managed so the Sussexes would not overlap with the Prince and Princess of Wales, amid reports that the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William remains strained.
Any potential gathering would also carry particular symbolism, with Balmoral long associated with family time for the Royal Family and described by Prince Harry as a special place in his memoir, as the Wales-Sussex rift has continued to dominate royal coverage.
No invitation has been confirmed by Buckingham Palace, and there has been no public indication from the Sussexes about travel plans. However, the focus on Balmoral highlights how any future meeting could hinge on privacy, security and carefully managed family logistics.
