Author claims Princess Catherine reached ‘final straw’ with Prince Harry
Princess Catherine is said to have stopped trying to mend the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry after the Duke of Sussex spoke publicly about King Charles’s health, according to claims made by royal biographer Christopher Andersen.
Andersen alleged that Catherine’s efforts ended after Harry referenced his father’s mortality in an early May BBC interview, with Express reporting the author’s account that the remarks were seen as “hurtful” while the King is being treated for cancer.
In comments Andersen gave to Fox News Digital, he said Catherine had previously been willing to act as a go-between for the brothers even after Harry’s memoir, Spare, but that the King’s diagnosis and Harry’s subsequent interview changed the situation. Andersen quoted Harry as saying he would like reconciliation because “we just don’t know how long” his father has to live, and suggested this fuelled speculation about how unwell the monarch might be.
The claim follows earlier reporting that Catherine reportedly reached her limit after remarks about King Charles, as scrutiny continues over whether there is any prospect of the brothers rebuilding ties.
Buckingham Palace has previously said it does not comment on such books, and Fox News Digital was reported to have contacted Kensington Palace for comment. The allegations come amid ongoing public focus on Prince Harry’s relationship with his family, including his security dispute and his stated wish to reconcile.
