Coldplay kicked off their ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour in Mexico on Friday, and Chris Martin dedicated the song “Everglow” to the memory of Taylor Hawkins, the legendary Foo Fighters drummer who died on Friday. Taylor Hawkins’ hotel video before dying was released.
Martin’s voice was shaky and he had to wipe his eyes at one point, announcing the sudden death to fans, “We heard that a friend of ours, in a great big band called the Foo Fighters, has passed away. We weren’t sure about talking about it at the concert, but we have to because they are our friends and we care about them.
We feel like we should send love to the Foo Fighters because we know he was a beautiful person, so we’re going to play this song for the Foo Fighters, and it’s called ‘Everglow.'”
