Queen Camilla ‘wary’ of Meghan Markle, says Ingrid Seward
Queen Camilla is said to be “very, very wary” of Meghan Markle amid claims the Duchess of Sussex could return to the UK this summer and potentially reunite with the Queen, according to comments attributed to royal commentator Ingrid Seward.
Express.co.uk reported that Ms Seward, speaking to New Magazine, said Camilla would “never be rude or unpleasant” to Meghan but would be “absolutely very, very wary” of her.
The report adds that Meghan may be considering joining Prince Harry on a much-discussed trip to London after time away from the UK, and suggests she could be weighing up whether to reach out to the Queen during any visit.
It also revisits Prince Harry’s past comments about Camilla, including passages from his memoir Spare, and notes that he later said he had a “huge amount of compassion for her” while describing her as someone who married into the institution and worked to improve her public image. Related commentary around Ms Seward’s recent remarks has previously featured in Britpop News coverage of claims that Meghan Markle sent a message to the Royal Family.
Meghan and Prince Harry stepped back from official royal duties in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California, with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. No official comment has been made by Buckingham Palace or representatives for the Sussexes about any prospective UK visit or contact with Queen Camilla.
