Prince William Responds to Taylor Swift Wedding Talk
Prince William has addressed speculation linking him to Taylor Swift’s rumoured wedding plans, after a light-hearted exchange on UK radio prompted renewed chatter about potential royal guests. The Prince of Wales was speaking on air on Friday, 22 May, during an appearance on Heart Breakfast, where the conversation turned to the pop star’s reported plans to marry NFL player Travis Kelce.
During the segment, StyleCaster reported that Prince William was asked whether he had an invitation to the “big wedding happening this summer”, and he replied: “No comment. I’m hoping and I’m sure there might be an invitation around but we’ll see.”
The Prince of Wales also used the radio appearance to request a Taylor Swift track for his children, with the programme discussing Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’s enthusiasm for the singer. Prince William spoke about attending Swift’s Eras Tour in June 2024 with Princess Charlotte and Prince George, recalling the atmosphere in the venue and saying the experience was “amazing”.
Royal diary watchers will note the Prince’s recent run of engagements as he continues to represent the Crown across a wide brief, including recognition events at Windsor. Earlier this month, he honoured a trusted royal driver during an investiture at Windsor Castle, underscoring the range of ceremonial duties that could clash with any summer travel.
No wedding date has been confirmed publicly by Swift or Kelce, and Prince William did not indicate whether any invitation had been received. For now, his on-air response has simply kept the rumour mill ticking over while offering a glimpse of his children’s ongoing Swiftie fandom.
