Prince William is reportedly waiting for the day he becomes king so he can remove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Sussex titles if they publicly criticize the royal family again.
Sources say William is still upset over how Harry and Meghan spoke negatively about the palace after stepping down from royal duties in 2020. Their comments, especially in Harry’s memoir Spare, hurt King Charles, but the king has been reluctant to take action, fearing public backlash.
When Queen Elizabeth granted Harry and Meghan the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles in 2018, Charles was hesitant to revoke them, as it might seem disrespectful to his late mother. However, William does not share these concerns. Insiders claim secret meetings have already taken place to discuss removing their titles if they continue to speak against the monarchy. Since this decision requires an Act of Parliament, plans are reportedly being considered for the future.
Harry and Meghan, who now live in California with their children, have made several public statements about the royal family. Meghan even suggested that some royals had racist attitudes regarding Archie’s skin color before he was born.
The palace allowed Harry and Meghan to pursue business ventures but asked them not to use the Sussex Royal brand. Despite this, Meghan continues to use her title, referring to herself as “Sussex” on her Netflix show. This has reportedly angered the royal family, and many believe William will officially strip them of their HRH status once he becomes king.
