Prince George had joined Prince William in a traditional festive game of football between Sandringham estate workers and neighboring villagers that took place ahead of Christmas via GB News.
Prince Harry, 40, previously played in the annual match. However, he has been absent since 2016, which it is believed to be the last time the brothers played in the friendly game. The father and son were on the same team wearing blue, with William sporting the number 18 on his shirt, as per the spectators.
From the sidelines, the 11-year-old royal was cheered on by spectators including Princess Kate and his two younger siblings. An insider told the Sun: “It just looked like healthy father-and-son bonding time.
“There were other children playing and it was all good fun and light-hearted.”
“It is nice that they have returned to take part in the traditional game as they haven’t done so for years.”
“But it was interesting to see that Harry has now been substituted for Prince George.”
Prince William had almost scored a goal, while George ran around the pitch energetically as per the spectators.
Prince William, president of the FA, is a keen Aston Villa fan and has taken George, 11, to Villa Park and Wembley to cheer on England. The pair was also pictured at the 2024 Euro final, jumping with joy when Cole Palmer equalized for England in the 2-1 defeat by Spain.
On the other hand, Princess Charlotte joined the Princess of Wales at the Wimbledon finals, Prince Louis remained at home.
Prince Harry is thought to not be on speaking terms with his older brother since stepping back from royal duties in January 2020. He celebrated Christmas in California alongside his wife, Meghan Markle and his two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
