Prince William and Prince Harry ‘have no trust’ to rebuild relationship, author says
Prince William and Prince Harry remain estranged, with a royal author claiming a lack of trust has prevented any meaningful reconciliation between the brothers since the Duke of Sussex stepped back from royal duties and later published his memoir.
Express reported that royal author Mr Robert Jobson said “there is no trust between the brothers”, arguing that reconciliation needs compromise but mostly depends on trust as the Prince of Wales focuses on “duty” while the Duke remains focused on “grievance”.
The report said Prince Harry, 41, was in the UK last week for a court case involving legal action against the publisher of the Daily Mail, but did not see his older brother during the visit. It added that the pair are believed not to have been on talking terms since the publication of Spare in 2023, despite the Duke previously signalling a desire to repair the relationship.
The latest claims follow other instances when the brothers were in London at the same time but did not meet, including coverage suggesting Prince William skipped a potential reunion for another engagement as public duties kept him elsewhere.
While Prince Harry has made repeated trips back to the UK since moving to the United States in 2020, the Express report noted that he has still met King Charles on some occasions, including a September visit that was described as a step towards improving their relationship.
