Prince Harry remark ‘broke down’ bond with Princess Catherine, author claims
Prince Harry’s relationship with Princess Catherine was described as beyond repair by a royal author, who argued a remark about King Charles’s health marked a turning point in the Duke of Sussex’s once-close bond with the Princess of Wales.
Speaking on ExtraTV, author Christopher Anderson said Catherine’s view changed after Harry reportedly said, “I don’t know how much longer my father has to live,” a comment he linked to the period after the King’s cancer diagnosis; Express.co.uk reported that Anderson characterised the remark as “tasteless and thoughtless”.
Mr Anderson, who is promoting his book Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen, said the “real tragedy” was that the pair had previously been close, but he now believes there is “no desire on either side” to repair the relationship, according to his TV interview.
His comments echo previous claims in royal coverage that the Princess of Wales remains deeply upset about the family rift, including reports that she ‘won’t forgive’ Prince Harry after the royal fallout.
Mr Anderson also discussed Catherine’s stance towards Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, saying she was “the first royal to turn her back on Andrew” over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and claimed she pushed for him to be stripped of his titles. The remarks, while unverified by the Palace, add to the continuing scrutiny of the Royal Family’s internal relationships as public attention remains focused on the future shape of the monarchy.
