Prince Harry and Meghan Plan Four-Day Australia Trip
Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are due to spend four days in Australia this week in a visit that is being framed as a test of how the couple’s private and business engagements may be received ahead of any future trips, including a possible return to the UK.
Hello Magazine reported that the Sussexes will travel to Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne from Tuesday, marking their first Australia visit since their 2018 official tour, with Prince Harry scheduled to speak at the InterEdge summit in Melbourne.
The publication also cited claims that the visit could operate as a “dummy run” and “testing ground” for future travel, while noting Meghan has not been in the UK since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022 and that their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not visited since the Platinum Jubilee that year.
Details released so far include Meghan being billed as the headline guest at a women-only Her Best Life retreat in Sydney, and a spokesperson previously said the couple would take part in private, business and philanthropic engagements; ahead of the trip, a PR expert questioned how the Australia schedule may play with audiences.
The Australia visit comes as Prince Harry is expected to be in the UK in June to mark a year until the Invictus Games in Birmingham, with Hello indicating it is currently anticipated he will travel without his family.
