Prince Harry and Meghan ‘not invited’ to Peter Phillips wedding
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reported to be absent from the guest list for an upcoming family wedding involving senior royals, with a commentator claiming the couple have not been invited to the ceremony. The claim centres on the wedding of Mr Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, who is due to marry his fiancée Ms Harriet Sperling on June 6 in a private event expected to be attended by members of the Royal Family.
Express reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not expected to attend Mr Phillips’s wedding, citing a claim that the couple were left off the invite list amid concerns their presence could draw attention away from the day.
In the report, TalkTV host Mr Mark Dolan told Sky News host Mr Paul Murray that it was a “royal snub” and alleged Prince Harry had not been invited. Mr Dolan claimed it was his understanding the Duke had effectively been “banned” from the event, suggesting the groom did not want the wedding to be overshadowed by headlines about the Sussexes.
The discussion also included a claim that “Palace officials” viewed the Duke and Duchess as “toxic” and feared they would “ruin” the occasion, though no official confirmation of invitations has been published by Buckingham Palace or representatives for the couple. The wedding is described as a private ceremony, and guest lists for such events are not typically released publicly.
The report is the latest in a series of claims about the Sussexes’ relationship with the wider Royal Family, and the wedding date is likely to sharpen interest in who attends and whether any senior royals are seen arriving at the ceremony.
