SheKnows Claims Sussexes Face Financial Stress
A new report has claimed Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, are feeling growing financial pressure as they continue to fund their post-royal lives in the United States, with security costs and uneven income cited as key factors.
SheKnows reported that Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” Substack alleged the couple “spends like a billion-dollar brand, but the income doesn’t flow consistently enough to support that level of spending forever,” and quoted a source claiming Prince Harry “worries about money constantly now.”
The piece also repeated claims that the Sussexes had tensions with Penguin Random House over their book deal, citing a NewsNation report which quoted a “publishing insider” alleging executives were receiving near-weekly calls from “camp Sussex” seeking additional money and that the agreement would not generate royalties after costs.
It also pointed to commercial efforts by Meghan, including an appearance at a Her Best Life retreat in Sydney and continued work on her As Ever brand. The report said the couple’s Netflix partnership remains active on the production side, echoing Deadline’s recent note that they are developing an Afghanistan war feature film, a project previously covered when they were linked to a new Netflix war drama through Archewell.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not publicly commented on the financial claims, but the latest reporting underscores how their media and brand deals continue to draw scrutiny as they balance business ambitions with family life.
