TalkTV Hosts Slam Harry and Meghan Australia Trip
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been criticised on TalkTV after commentators discussed the couple’s recent unofficial trip to Australia and argued it has worsened tensions with the Royal Family. The remarks aired on Saturday night, with presenters claiming the Sussexes’ activities during the visit have fuelled fresh public backlash and made reconciliation with Buckingham Palace more difficult.
During the segment, Express reported that TalkTV presenter Mr Ash Gould said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were now “past the point of no return,” arguing they had hit “rock bottom” following the Australia appearances and the controversy around them.
TalkTV contributors Ms Samara Gill and Mr Kevin O’Sullivan also joined the criticism, with Gill disputing claims that the trip had been a success and alleging the couple’s approach showed the risks of pursuing a “one foot in, one foot out” role. O’Sullivan said there was “a lack of class” in the way the visit was conducted and suggested Prince Harry appeared uncomfortable, while Gould claimed the tour had undermined the chances of King Charles attending this summer’s Invictus Games.
The on-air debate comes amid continuing scrutiny of the Duke’s hopes of repairing relations with his family, a theme also raised in Britpop News reporting on Prince Harry’s reported desire to move past Royal Family drama while maintaining his current life in the US.
Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan has publicly responded to the TalkTV comments. The Invictus Games organisers have not announced attendance details for senior royals, and any decision by King Charles about future appearances is expected to be communicated through official palace channels closer to the event.
