Prince Harry reportedly wants guarantees from the Royal Family before Meghan Markle joins him for a possible return to the U.K. later this year — and the alleged demands are already causing frustration behind palace walls.
According to a new report, Harry is expected to travel back to Britain for the upcoming Invictus Games, but Meghan’s involvement remains uncertain. Before anything gets finalized, Harry reportedly wants reassurance that Meghan will be treated respectfully if she attends.
One insider claimed Harry is specifically seeking confirmation that family members will remain “polite” toward Meghan following years of tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the monarchy.
“Harry is coming in with all these demands on behalf of Meghan, and it’s rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way.”
The source added that Harry reportedly feels he has little choice because of how difficult previous interactions with the family have allegedly become.
“Harry says he has no choice, based on how badly things have gone in the past.”

The report claims Harry’s biggest concern is Meghan walking into another uncomfortable royal environment where she feels judged before anything even happens.
“The last thing he wants is Meghan walking into a situation where she feels judged, and he says all he’s asking is that she’s treated with basic respect and not cast as the bad guy before anything’s even happened.”
According to the source, Harry is also allegedly pushing for reassurance that everyone inside the family will give Meghan “a fair chance” if she returns to Britain again.
The situation reportedly has not gone over well with some senior royals, especially given the years of public tension following the couple stepping away from royal duties in 2020.
“A large number of senior royals are outraged that Harry’s had the audacity to make all these demands ahead of his trip.”
The insider also claimed some within royal circles are frustrated that the situation once again centers heavily around Meghan.
“The fact that, once again, it all centers around Meghan and presumably ensuring she’s treated with kid gloves.”
Meghan has only returned to the U.K. a handful of times since the Sussexes exited royal life, most notably for Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and later for the late Queen’s funeral that same year.
Since leaving royal duties, both Harry and Meghan have remained at the center of repeated controversy surrounding interviews, documentaries, and Harry’s memoir Spare, which openly criticized several members of the Royal Family, including William, Prince of Wales and Camilla.
