Prince Harry had real hope that his long-running feud with his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William, would eventually end, according to a new Vanity Fair report.
In 2023, Harry told a guest at an event that he had not heard from his family since releasing his memoir Spare. The guest said Harry seemed genuinely sad about the situation and might not have realized how much damage the book had caused.
Harry has been distant from the royal family since he and Meghan Markle left royal life in 2020 and moved to the U.S. Since then, they have released several tell-all projects about their time in the palace, including a Netflix series and a controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
However, Harry’s memoir, Spare, released in January 2023, reportedly made things worse. A source told Vanity Fair that Meghan understands Harry is struggling to build a social life in the U.S. and does her best to make things easier for him.
Meanwhile, Prince William is focused on improving the royal family’s public image. He reportedly wants to distance the monarchy from both Harry and Meghan, as well as their uncle, Prince Andrew, who has faced multiple scandals.
Harry last saw his father, King Charles, in February 2024, after the King’s cancer diagnosis.
