Prince Harry Steps Up Causes Amid King Charles Rift
Prince Harry has reportedly increased his public comments on major social issues as speculation continues about his relationship with King Charles, with claims that he is choosing topics that overlap with causes his father has long supported.
Radar Online was cited in a Yahoo Entertainment report that Yahoo Entertainment said includes an insider alleging the Duke of Sussex is selecting issues such as antisemitism because they align with matters King Charles “also feels deeply about”.
The report also quoted a source suggesting Prince Harry wants “to present himself as thoughtful, compassionate and statesmanlike”, while critics inside royal circles allegedly view the timing of the Duke’s statements as an attempt at “personal image management”.
It further claimed palace officials were uncomfortable after Prince Harry published a New Statesman piece condemning antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred on the same day King Charles privately visited London’s Jewish community, with the source saying the Duke is acting as a private individual rather than speaking with institutional authority. In recent months, Prince Harry has also faced questions about his standing with the monarchy, including claims that he has been warned he is in no position to make demands of the Royal Family.
Despite one palace aide quoted in the report saying the King and his younger son share similarities shaped by their upbringing and humanitarian interests, the article suggested the rift remains, with communication said to be handled through aides rather than directly since their last face-to-face meeting during the Duke’s brief visit to London.
