As a fan of Zak Starkey and his father, the legendary, Ringo Starr – I am thrilled to reveal that he has teamed up with some rock legends to form a new group called Mantra of the Cosmos.
As reported by Daily Mail, The supergroup includes Oasis bassist Andy Bell, Happy Mondays stars Shaun Ryder and Bez, and of course, Zak himself, who also has stepped out of his father’s shadow for being known via his own accord as being the drummer for The Who.
This exciting collaboration has been kept under wraps, as they’ve been secretly recording, but fans won’t have to wait much longer to hear them, as the group is set to perform live at Glastonbury Festival. In an exclusive interview, Shaun revealed that their sound is a unique mixture of their styles, which makes it different from what they have done individually in the past. He added that fans won’t be able to predict their sound, but the album is expected to be out this year.
Shaun also mentioned that he has been working on another project, and it seems like he’s in high demand.
With his recent stint on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, Shaun has gained even more popularity, and it won’t be a surprise if he attracts some big names to join him on Mantra of the Cosmos’ new album, especially with the big Ringo Starr connection.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of both albums, and it’s safe to say that the music world is in for a treat. Let’s see what kind of music we can get from this amazing group. If anything it is sure to be something that can be listened to on repeat. How could it not be? All of these musicians are trained in the highest way possible. Get ready, because this will be good.
