Have you heard the latest about the Beatles? AI is giving new life to the Fab Four’s music! A fan on YouTube, known as Dae Lims, has created two reimagined versions of the Beatles’ solo hits in collaboration with AI technology.
First up is Paul McCartney’s 2013 single “New,” which features an AI version of John Lennon singing alongside his former bandmate. Fans are raving about this stunning recreation, with many commenting that it feels like a new Beatles song. The emotional impact of hearing Lennon’s voice once again brought tears to some listeners’, but yet it still leaves a very eerie feeling.
Next, Lims tackled John Lennon’s posthumous 1983 ballad “Grow Old with Me.” This time, McCartney joins in with his own voice, transforming the solo release into a beautiful collaboration that fans are calling a “masterpiece” and “truly stunning.”
But Dae Lims isn’t the only one using AI to revisit the Beatles’ music. Giles Martin, son of the Beatles’ producer George Martin, used AI and machine learning to completely recreate the band’s seventh album, Revolver. He credits the audio team led by Peter Jackson for developing the technology while working on The Beatles: Get Back documentary for Disney+.
As a millennial Beatles fan, it’s exciting to see this iconic band’s music evolving with the help of AI and continuing to captivate new audiences. It’s a reminder that the Beatles’ legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. Is it odd that it’s being done like this? Sure. I’ve voiced my opinions of AI, and while I enjoy it, it’s hard for me to get over dead voices coming back to life.
Will this lead to a full new Beatles album? I doubt it. Will Paul McCartney say much on this? Let’s see what happens next in this very odd multiverse.
