Noel Gallagher has no problem with poking fun at himself whenever he feel it’s best to do-so. Recently, Noel went on record and admitted he’s “s**t at everything” except songwriting. Surely this can’t be true.
The High Flying Birds frontman and of course, former Oasis member says he thinks it’s a bit “sad” he lacks any other skills and only has a handful of passions – music, his family, getting drunk and football.
He admitted: “It’s quite sad when I think about it – I’m not interested in anything else. I’ve got no hobbies. I can’t drive, can’t f*g swim, I can’t cook. I’m s**t at everything, bar this thing. I have no other interests apart from Manchester city, football, and my family, and that’s it.”
What may be even more sad is that he did want to find new hobbies during the virus lockdown, but he stopped as he felt the initial novelty wore off. After the lockdowns, he stopped pursuing his interests of going to footie matches, the pub and spending time with relatives.
He said: “It’s almost like someone had designed the virus to f**k up my life. I’m only interested in about six things – the football, shopping, music, travelling, going out and getting p**d and family. All those six things were just f*****g wiped out for a year – over a year.”
But adding he’s grateful he has his songwriting ability, Noel said: “It’s what I do – it’s what I love doing. There’s so much s**t in the world now that if you can create, then you should create. Because Lord knows, there’s enough darkness in the world and people need it in their lives, and I’m lucky enough to be able to provide it, so I do.”
His rock band, named Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, formed shortly after Oasis parted ways and started working on music in 2010.
Since then the band have gone on tour and played at multiple festivals – with gigs coming up in 2023 with Noel sharing posters and plans regularly on his Twitter.
