Nelly Furtado recently shared a memory of attending an Oasis concert where brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher got into a fight during the fifth song. The Canadian singer, who is a longtime fan of the British rock band, expressed her excitement about their upcoming 2025 reunion tour, which will include shows in cities like London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Dublin, but Liam Gallagher’s ex-wife has already reacted to Oasis’ reunion.
In a Q&A with The Guardian, Furtado mentioned that her love for Oasis isn’t just a trend. She has been a fan since she was 17, learning to play guitar by playing along with their songs. She recalled one particular concert in Vancouver that was so memorable she wrote a five-star review in her college newspaper.
However, the show ended abruptly when Liam and Noel threw their microphones down and walked off stage after their fight, which she felt made the experience even more special. Furtado also shared that she has even driven past their childhood home in Burnage and dreams of seeing them live again.
Her enthusiasm comes amid some tension between Liam Gallagher and the Irish band Fontaines DC, whose members made dismissive comments about the Oasis reunion. After their remarks, Gallagher responded on social media, criticizing them for their lack of interest. Fontaines DC’s frontman later clarified that he loves Oasis, distancing himself from the negative comments made by his bandmates.
