Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr., has criticized her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. He said she has “never been real” and that everything she does is planned. Even though the show is popular and has been renewed for a second season, her family is not watching it. She also roasted Drew Barrymore’s weird behavior.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Thomas Sr. said he has not watched the full series but has seen many clips. He believes Meghan is acting and not showing her true emotions.
“Meghan has never been real. She plans everything she says. She is not natural,” he said. “I know all her looks and expressions. I can tell when she is faking it. She tries so hard to be perfect that she looks nervous on camera.”
Thomas Sr., who worked as a TV lighting director, also talked about what makes a cooking show interesting. He said people enjoy hosts who are funny and natural, but he thinks Meghan is too focused on looking perfect.
“Cooking shows are boring unless the host has passion,” he said. “If you are stuffing a turkey, it should look like you are having fun. The best cooks make mistakes and laugh about it. Meghan just wants to look perfect all the time.”
In With Love, Meghan, she described her childhood as simple and said she ate a lot of fast food and microwavable dinners. She called herself a “latchkey kid,” meaning she was often home alone.
However, her father said this is not true. “We sometimes ate TV dinners, but which family doesn’t? I worked two jobs, so money was never a problem,” he said. “We ate out at restaurants at least three times a week and ordered food at home often.”
Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., also criticized her story. He told TalkTV that Meghan was not poor and that she is making up stories for sympathy.
“That’s just another lie she told the royal family to get them to feel sorry for her,” he said. “We were not poor. She did not have to count coins at a cheap salad bar. Everyone knows how she treated her family, especially her father, who gave her everything. That’s why no one believes her.”
