Meghan Markle ‘Proud’ of Australia Earnings, Report Claims
Meghan Markle has been accused of making Prince Harry “uncomfortable” by frequently talking about money after the couple’s recent trip to Australia, according to a report that claims the visit combined charitable appearances with business-related engagements. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior working royals in 2020 and have since pursued commercial projects alongside public-facing causes.
In a live report, Daily Express said an unnamed insider claimed Meghan was “proud” of the money the Australia trip generated, describing a “cash infusion” as a “big win” at a time when finances were said to be a concern.
The same account, attributed to The News, quoted the insider as saying Meghan “gets a huge rush from hitting her goals” and that “success is very addictive for her”, while adding that Prince Harry “was taught never to speak about money” and finds discussions of “numbers” to be “very gauche”. The report also stated Meghan attended a girls-weekend retreat during the trip as part of the couple’s schedule.
The Australia visit has also revived debate about the Sussexes’ approach to mixing service-style engagements with paid work, a theme that has featured in Britpop News reporting that their paid tours reportedly deepen the royal rift as the couple carve out a post-royal model.
Neither the Duke nor the Duchess has publicly addressed the specific claims about their finances, but the latest allegations underline how closely their overseas appearances are scrutinised for signs of commercial intent as well as charitable impact.
