Meghan OneOff Deal Raises Questions on Harry Security Case
Meghan Markle’s new partnership with an AI-driven shopping platform has prompted fresh questions about how the Duchess of Sussex’s commercial activity could intersect with Prince Harry’s ongoing legal bid to regain UK taxpayer-funded security. The issue has been raised as the Duke of Sussex continues to challenge arrangements for police protection when visiting Britain.
The Mirror reported that Meghan has agreed a deal with OneOff that would allow her to earn a portion of profits from outfits sold via the platform, including looks she wore during the couple’s recent Australia tour.
Royal journalist Ms Stacy Schaverien was quoted suggesting that, if Prince Harry succeeds in restoring automatic security, critics could question whether the public should fund protection during UK visits if those trips are also used to generate income through fashion-related sales. The report said the security dispute is currently under review after Prince Harry challenged a High Court ruling that was not in his favour.
The commercial tie-in has been part of wider discussion about the Sussexes’ post-royal income streams, including how outfit links sparked questions amid Prince Harry’s security fight in earlier Britpop News reporting.
The Mirror also noted that the Invictus Games are due to return to the UK next year, with Prince Harry expected to visit Birmingham later this year as preparations continue, keeping attention on both the couple’s public appearances and the practical arrangements surrounding their travel.
