Meghan Markle Set for MasterChef Australia Guest Slot
Meghan Markle is due to make a new television appearance in Australia after being announced as a guest judge on the next series of MasterChef Australia, with a PR specialist suggesting the role could signal a broader attempt to re-enter mainstream entertainment.
Express.co.uk reported that the Duchess of Sussex was revealed as a guest judge while she and Prince Harry undertook a visit to Australia this week, and that her participation drew mixed reactions among viewers ahead of the series’ launch.
Celebrity PR specialist Ms Kayley Cornelius, speaking to OLBG, said the MasterChef booking could be Meghan “testing the waters” to gauge interest in a potential “full-scale comeback” to TV, adding that a strong response could improve her prospects with casting producers.
The appearance comes as attention remains on the couple’s activities in the country, including recent scrutiny over claims Meghan was monetising outfits during the Australia visit, as their trip continues to generate debate on social media and in sections of the press.
Meghan previously worked as an actor on Suits before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, and she has spoken publicly about stepping away from acting at the time, framing it as a change rather than giving something up as she took on royal duties.
