Meghan Markle ‘annoyed’ Netflix with gift push
Meghan Markle has been accused of trying to rebuild ties with Netflix after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s deal with the streaming giant reportedly ended earlier this year. A new report claims the Duchess of Sussex has been sending repeated personal gestures to Netflix chief executive Mr Ted Sarandos and his wife Ms Nicole Avant in an effort to re-establish goodwill.
Mirror reported that an insider alleged Meghan has been reaching out with gifts including handwritten letters, flowers and jars of her As Ever jam, and that the approach has been described as “too much” and “annoying”.
The report said Meghan was recently photographed with Mr Sarandos at a party in Montecito, California, and suggested the contact has continued even as Netflix is no longer involved in backing the As Ever lifestyle brand. It also quoted a Netflix statement saying the company was “glad to have played a role” in bringing the brand to life, while Meghan would take it forward “independently”.
The claims come as the Duchess faces ongoing attention around her post-royal career plans, including earlier reporting that she has been linked with a possible MasterChef Australia appearance amid wider speculation about future TV work.
Neither Meghan nor Netflix has responded publicly to the insider’s comments, but the report underscores scrutiny of the Sussexes’ media strategy as they pursue new projects following their earlier output for the platform.
