Lord Sugar jokes about ‘arbitration’ to bring Prince Harry back during The Apprentice launch
Lord Alan Sugar has taken a pointed swipe at Prince Harry while promoting the upcoming 20th series of The Apprentice, joking about the Duke of Sussex being brought “back in the fold” as the BBC show prepares to return.
At a press event in London’s Soho, Express.co.uk reported that Lord Sugar quipped “How about a renegotiation to bring Harry back in the fold?” after Baroness Karren Brady suggested it would be “great” for a task to be hosted at a royal palace such as Buckingham Palace.
According to the report, Lord Sugar attended the event via video call while working abroad, and followed up with another remark, telling those present: “They’ll need arbitration.” The comments came as Baroness Brady and former winner Tim Campbell appeared alongside him to preview the new run of the business competition.
The jibe also landed amid continuing public scrutiny of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s post-royal life, including ongoing debate about their public roles and titles since stepping back from official duties in 2020, an issue previously examined in Britpop News coverage of Prince Harry and Meghan’s ‘faux royal tours’ using Sussex titles.
The Apprentice is due to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer for its milestone 20th series, with Lord Sugar again fronting the programme alongside his advisers.
