King Charles Mulls Royal Lodge for Harry
King Charles III is reportedly considering offering Royal Lodge at Windsor to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in what is being framed as an attempt to draw the Duke and Duchess of Sussex closer to the Royal Family.
In a piece citing royal commentator Mr Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, Yahoo Entertainment reported that a “royal insider” described the move as an “ultimate olive branch,” adding that the King “wants unity” and that offering a Windsor property would signal “the door is still open.”
The same report said Royal Lodge is now vacant after Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, moved out, and suggested the King is thinking about keeping family close “geographically and emotionally” as he continues cancer treatment.
Any proposal would likely be scrutinised because of the property’s association with the Duke of York, and Harry has previously faced questions about family tensions, including when he sidestepped a question about Prince Andrew in a TV interview amid renewed attention on the wider scandal.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have publicly confirmed any housing discussions, and no details have been given on whether the couple would consider spending more time in the UK.
