King Charles Braces for Fresh Andrew Epstein Fallout
King Charles is facing renewed pressure over Prince Andrew after a forthcoming documentary is expected to revisit the Duke of York’s links to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The programme, which is said to include testimony and analysis of documents, threatens to reignite a scandal that has long overshadowed the royal family and could prompt fresh questions about how the Palace manages the Duke’s public position.
ARY News reported that a new documentary is set to present “explosive testimony” alongside forensic analysis of documents that link Epstein to powerful individuals, including Prince Andrew.
The report also said the Duke of York—described as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—has been stripped of royal titles and is facing investigation for suspected misconduct in public office. It noted that Prince Andrew’s association with Epstein has been a long-running embarrassment for the royals, and referenced his 2022 settlement of a civil lawsuit brought by Ms Virginia Giuffre for an undisclosed sum.
The renewed attention comes as Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, have previously been said to keep their distance from the Duke, with claims that they ‘cut off’ Prince Andrew as the family sought to protect the institution’s standing.
For the King, the timing is awkward as he continues to push a modernised, duty-focused monarchy, with any fresh revelations likely to fuel scrutiny of the royal household’s response to a controversy that has already caused significant reputational damage.
