King Charles III is probably happy that former President Donald Trump said he won’t try to send Prince Harry back to the U.K., despite questions about his immigration status. He also allegedly fears near fatal poisoning.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital that if Harry was forced to return, it would bring a lot of attention back to him and Meghan Markle. “Harry would definitely fight against it, and the media coverage would be nonstop,” he said.
Fitzwilliams also said the British royal family has many challenges right now, including health issues, and they don’t trust Harry and Meghan. He added that Harry and Meghan are not very popular in the U.K., except among younger people, and they wouldn’t receive a warm welcome if they returned.
Another royal expert, Hillary Fordwich, said King Charles prefers to avoid conflict and wants to focus on his health and royal duties. “It’s better for him if Harry stays out of sight and out of mind,” she explained.
Trump recently told the New York Post that he had no interest in deporting Harry, who is involved in a legal fight over his immigration documents. The conservative Heritage Foundation sued the U.S. government to get Harry’s immigration records released, arguing he might have lied about his past drug use in his book Spare.
When asked if he would send Harry back to the U.K., Trump said, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
Fitzwilliams believes Trump was never serious about deporting Harry. “He has other things to focus on, and doing that would actually make Harry and Meghan more popular in Hollywood, which would be ironic,” he said.
Fordwich pointed out that Charles must stay out of politics, so he wouldn’t publicly comment on Harry’s visa situation. However, she believes Trump’s decision not to deport Harry is in his own best interest. “Trump values his relationship with the British royals and wouldn’t want to upset them, especially since he hopes to visit Buckingham Palace again,” she explained.
