Prince Harry flew to London recently for a court hearing but didn’t get to see his father, King Charles. Harry is upset because he lost his official police protection in the UK and is fighting the government’s decision in court. He says he doesn’t feel safe bringing Meghan and their kids, Archie and Lilibet, back to the UK without it.
Harry arrived in London the same day King Charles and Queen Camilla left for a royal tour in Italy. Still, there was a chance for father and son to meet before the trip, but it didn’t happen. Sources say King Charles chose not to see Harry. He’s unhappy that Harry keeps fighting for police protection when he and Meghan chose to leave their royal roles. The King feels Harry should accept the consequences of that choice.
People close to the royal family say Harry can get police protection if he gives a month’s notice, but it’s not something Charles can arrange by himself. It’s up to a group called RAVEC, which already said no. The King thinks it looks bad for the family when Harry keeps challenging this publicly, especially since Harry already has private security.
Harry hasn’t spent much time with his father in over a year. The last time was in February 2024 when King Charles was first diagnosed with cancer. That visit only lasted about 30 minutes. Recently, Charles had another short hospital stay due to side effects from treatment. Harry hoped to see him again during this visit, but it didn’t work out.
