Justin Timberlake is reportedly considering something he once swore he’d never do, an *NSYNC reunion, to revive his struggling career.
Since his DWI arrest in Sag Harbor, things have only gone downhill. His latest album failed to take off, ticket sales for his tour have been underwhelming, he dealt with an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, and he upset fans by canceling the final U.S. show at the last minute.
During his concerts, Timberlake was reportedly frustrated when fans didn’t sing along to the songs from his new album, realizing they weren’t connecting with the music. While he remains proud of his recent work, he now understands why fans have been disappointed with his setlist choices and show cancellations.
The lukewarm response to The Forget Tomorrow World Tour has made him reconsider his stance on an *NSYNC comeback. Seeing the Backstreet Boys’ success with their Las Vegas Sphere residency and sold-out tour dates has further influenced his decision.
While he still needs to complete the international leg of his tour through late July, Timberlake reportedly plans to evaluate the Backstreet Boys’ shows before deciding whether an *NSYNC reunion should involve a tour or a residency.
The other members—JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Lance Bass—have previously expressed interest in reuniting, and now Timberlake may finally be open to it. According to sources, he sees it as a way to reset his career and rebuild goodwill with fans. However, if it happens, it likely won’t be right away, as he’s also considering time with family and potential film projects before fully committing.
