Luke Evens is a Welsh actor who is open about his orientation and sexuality. The actor was asked a couple of questions by Bustle magazine as he promoted his role in the new live-action version of Pinocchio. If his orientation doesn’t get looked into, he possesses all the skills to play a James Bond.
He even talked about how he trained with the Navy Seals for a lead role in the TV show Echo 3. Evans plays the role of Billy Porter’s partner in the drama Our Son. The couple is going through a divorce and in a custody battle over the child.
Luke was happy that more LGBTQ content is getting made instead of just bio-pics and historical queer figures. He talked about his partner, Spanish graphic designer Fran Tomas. Luke says that he can’t control the paparazzi who secretly took shots of the pair recently on a beach in Ibiza. The superstar was open about his orientation during the interview.
James Bond got never played by a gay superstar. Luke even said the audience shouldn’t be concerned with what 007 does in his bedroom. It’s good that the world is opening up about orientations and is ready to talk about how people live in the ever-changing world.
Whether this changes in a new flick or some other change happens, we will have to see if the franchise is open to accepting a gay person playing 007. The producer is open to anyone from any ethnicity playing a pivotal role.
