Chloe Fineman revealed that Harry Styles wasn’t happy with her impression of him before his Saturday Night Live hosting debut. Speaking on the red carpet for SNL’s 50th-anniversary special, Fineman admitted that Styles was “devastated” by how bad her impersonation was.
“My Harry Styles is really bad,” she confessed. “I did it, and he was at the table and was so devastated by how bad it was.” To prove her point, she attempted the impression again, stiffly saying, “Anyway, I’m Harry Styles, anyway,” in a British accent.
Fineman, who is known for her spot-on impressions of celebrities like Jennifer Coolidge and Drew Barrymore, also shared that she has a fascination with British accents. Her viral take on Nicole Kidman’s AMC commercial even showed off her Australian accent skills.
Styles hosted SNL once in November 2019, shortly after Fineman joined the cast. Although they didn’t perform together in that episode, she later appeared in a 2021 sketch on The Tonight Show where Jimmy Fallon impersonated Styles while she played Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
At SNL’s 50th-anniversary celebration, Fineman joined past and present cast members at Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center. The special featured many celebrity impressions, including Eddie Murphy hilariously impersonating Tracy Morgan while standing right next to him in a Black Jeopardy sketch.
The milestone event, hosted by Willie Geist and Leslie Jones, aired live on Sunday and brought together some of the show’s biggest names to celebrate half a century of comedy.
