Coldplay has made a habit of surprising fans on their Music of the Spheres world tour with unexpected covers, adding unique moments to their record-breaking shows. During Sunday night’s concert at Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia—the last of a four-night run at the 83,500-seat venue—they delivered a surprising cover of Travis Scott’s “Goosebumps.” This rendition caught the attention of Travis Scott himself, who responded on social media with high praise, calling it “This got it” with a goat emoji. They also previously performed without one of their members.
Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin introduced “Goosebumps” as his favorite Travis Scott song before launching into the track with his signature energy. As Martin sang “I get those goosebumps every time,” he ran up the stage with his acoustic guitar while guitarist Jonny Buckland added a powerful solo, giving the song a rock twist that thrilled the crowd. Scott’s admiration for Coldplay has shown up in his lyrics, with shoutouts to the band in songs like 2016’s “Way Back” and 2023’s “Til Further Notice,” and fans have even created mash-ups like “A Sky Full of Goosebumps” and “Viva La Goosebumps.”
The Music of the Spheres tour will continue with a three-night stop at Auckland’s Eden Park stadium on November 13. After a short break, Coldplay will resume in January with a four-show run in Abu Dhabi, bringing their worldwide tour into the new year.
