Britney Spears DUI Report Cites Wine Glass, Pills
A police report from Britney Spears’ March 4 DUI arrest in Ventura County, California, has set out new allegations about what officers said they observed during the traffic stop, including an empty wine glass in the car and pills said to be unprescribed. The details have resurfaced as the incident continues to draw scrutiny around the singer’s health and conduct.
During the stop, the report said an officer found an empty wine glass in a cup holder and later located a bottle labelled “Adderall” in Ms Spears’ purse that was not prescribed to her, OK! Magazine reported.
According to the documents quoted, officers were dispatched after a 911 caller reported a vehicle “traveling at high speeds and swerving” near Ms Spears’ home after 9pm PT. The report alleged she crossed into another lane by about two feet several times, and that she did not immediately respond to emergency lights, prompting the use of a siren.
Ms Spears told officers she had consumed prescription medications that day and said she had only sipped a champagne mimosa earlier, while the report described an odour of alcohol, slurred speech and an unsteady gait. The incident has been widely discussed in the context of her recent wellbeing, following earlier coverage in which a short rehab stay was detailed after the March arrest.
The report also described Ms Spears initially refusing to exit her vehicle and objecting to field sobriety testing, before she was taken for further evaluation and a blood draw. Any final outcome in the case will depend on the legal process and official findings, with the police report reflecting allegations recorded by officers at the scene.
