Blink-182 singer/bassist Mark Hoppus appeared to announce that he has cancer in a treatment photo he posted on Wednesday.
Kuri44 posted on Reddit, “I literally burst out in tears when I saw this pic. Awful news. He seems to be in good spirits, which is important. I pray he makes a full recovery and will keep him in my prayers. Sending all my love and positive vibes to Mark, his family, and his loved ones❤️🙏🏼”
scole20057 chimed in, “This makes me so sad. The man already has heart problems. His mom beat cancer twice. I am hopeful he will beat cancer too.
It completely makes sense now why they cancelled their 2021 tour dates. I don’t think he found this out today. He’s probably known for a few months now.
Send Mark positive vibes!”
DankrudeSandstorm wrote, “He actually deleted it after people started reacting to it. Which is even more strange. Obviously he wouldn’t joke about something like that, so my guess is maybe he meant to post that on his private account? Who knows.”
CapnCanfield said, “Just want to point out, since everyone seems to be fearing the worst, that we don’t know what kind of cancer he has or how fat along it is. Just having cancer isn’t automatically a death sentence. Hopefully it’s a more non aggressive form, and hopefully everything was caught early on. At his age, it really could be anything, like prostate cancer.”
