Invictus trustee Melloney Poole resigns from Prince Harry’s foundation
Prince Harry has suffered a fresh setback in his charitable work after a senior figure connected to the Invictus Games Foundation board resigned, according to new reporting. The development comes weeks after legal action linked to Sentebale, the charity he co-founded in 2006, was disclosed.
Hello Magazine reported that Ms Melloney Poole, described as a trustee and vice chairman of the Invictus Games board, is leaving her role to focus on “other interests”, with the news attributed to the Daily Mail.
In the same report, HELLO! said the Duke of Sussex is being sued for defamation by Sentebale, after he parted ways with the organisation. The article stated the claim was lodged in the High Court in March and also names Mr Mark Dyer, a former trustee, alongside Prince Harry.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Mr Dyer was quoted rejecting the allegations and questioning why charitable funds were being used for legal action, while noting that the Charity Commission previously published findings that said “no wrongdoing” took place. The board resignation follows other scrutiny around Invictus, including our earlier report that the Invictus Games faced a major blow after Australia reportedly pulled funding.
The Duke remains involved in other philanthropic work through Archewell Philanthropies with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, but the latest departure adds to questions about stability and governance across the projects associated with him. Neither the Invictus Games Foundation nor representatives for the Duke provided additional comment in the report.
