Zayn Malik takes aim at Harry Styles’ tour ticket prices during Las Vegas residency
Zayn Malik appeared to poke fun at former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles while performing in Las Vegas this week, referencing criticism of Styles’ ticket prices as fans reacted in the room.
During his residency show at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Wednesday, Malik paused between songs to thank the crowd before adding: “hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high – just saying, anyway!”, the Daily Mirror reported.
The remark came as tickets for Styles’ upcoming Together, Together world tour have been the subject of online complaints, with some packages reported to have risen above £700. The Mirror said the singer has also pledged that £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to LIVE Trust, a fund intended to support grassroots music in the UK.
Malik’s onstage aside prompted audible reactions from the audience, with some clapping and jeering, according to the report, while members of his band were also seen cheering the comment. The clip later circulated on X, prompting a mixed response from users, including one calling the moment a “low blow” and another describing it as “shady”.
The latest exchange adds to a history of public distance between the former bandmates, and follows earlier remarks from Malik that he and Styles were not close even during their time in One Direction. Malik’s headline-making moment also comes amid renewed attention on the group’s legacy after the members were last seen together at the funeral of bandmate Liam Payne last year.
