Tom Hiddleston was caught off guard when his ex Taylor Swift was unexpectedly mentioned during a live interview on U.K.’s Heart Radio. The actor, 44, appeared on the show on August 21 alongside his The Life of Chuck costar Karen Gillan when host Devin Griffin brought up Swift’s internet habits mid-conversation.
Hiddleston had been talking about how he enjoys reading sports articles online in his free time when Griffin compared it to Swift’s browsing habits. The host noted how Swift, who has become a big NFL fan since dating Travis Kelce, reportedly reads injury reports and even follows a sourdough recipe blog.
The sudden mention of Swift seemed to surprise Hiddleston, who briefly froze before Gillan stepped in, joking that the sourdough blog sounded like a Super Bowl Easter egg.
The radio show later shared the moment on TikTok with the caption, “When you accidentally mention their ex…”
Hiddleston and Swift dated briefly in 2016 after meeting at the Met Gala, but their relationship ended after three months. Reports at the time said Swift ended things because Hiddleston wanted the romance to be more public than she was comfortable with.
Since then, both have moved on. Swift has been dating NFL star Travis Kelce since 2023, while Hiddleston has been engaged to Zawe Ashton since 2022. The couple welcomed their first child that year and are currently expecting their second.
