The Libertines recently performed in Manchester at the Albert Hall, where they ended their show with a cover of The Stone Roses’ classic song, “Waterfall.” The crowd sang along as Pete Doherty took the lead vocals and Carl Barât played guitar. The setlist also included songs from their new album All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade as well as hits like “Up The Bracket,” “Time For Heroes,” “Don’t Look Back Into The Sun,” and “Can’t Stand Me Now.”
Their UK tour will continue with shows in Lincoln on November 17 and at the O2 Academy Bournemouth on November 21. They’ve also announced a big show for August 9, 2025, at Gunnersbury Park in London, with special guests Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls, and Real Farmer.
The band’s new album All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade became their first UK Number One in 20 years. It’s a more focused and united effort from the band, as each member found their own way in life. NME gave the album four stars, praising the band for maturing and finding their voice.
On top of that, Doherty and Barât have teamed up with the brand Blue Flowers to create two new jackets inspired by the band.
