The Killers and Robbie Williams. Two giants in the industry that have made huge waves and are still making those waves happen. With both Robbie and The Killers making lots of hits, what is it that keeps them coming back for more in the music industry? One word – money!
In a recent post, it was revealed that Robbie Williams and Brandon Flowers of The Killers were on the same page for a recent show.
The text, via Reddit, stated: “Liberty Financial, a major sponsor of the Essendon Football Club, has secretly flown in US hitmakers, The Killers, for a one night-only show at Richmond’s Reunion Park on Friday. And if the $2 million-odd price tag wasn’t enough, The Veronicas were also flown in from LA as the support act. Insiders say the cheque was in excess of $3 million. Page 13 thought such celebrity extravagances were only for Saudi princes.”
This would be for a private event, as well, Robbie Williams would be apart of this.
Continued: “The private show for staff, family friends and the mortgage banker’s besties was in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The eye-watering sum comes just a month after Robbie Williams was privately flown into Melbourne for well over a million dollars to perform at a one-night-only gig for rival wealth management company La Trobe Financials 70th anniversary at Crown Palladium. It’s the ultimate one-up. When The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers was asked why they decided to make the long trip to Oz he didn’t mince his words: ‘Money!'”
Brandon Flowers of The Killers is used to the fame and has no issue with being very blunt about just what drives him and the band at this point.
Flowers said: “We’re playing a one-off private gig. There’s no other word for it. There’s no glorified word for it.”
