Travis Kelce is widely known as one of the friendliest stars in sports, but actor Josh Charles once had a very different view of him. Charles shared the story during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Charles appeared in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Fortnight,” alongside Ethan Hawke. While filming the video, Travis Kelce was also present on set. During the interview, Fallon brought up claims that Charles and Kelce had clashed, but Charles explained it was never a fight.
Charles, a longtime Baltimore Ravens fan, said his opinion of Kelce changed after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Ravens in the AFC Championship game. He felt Kelce came across as overly aggressive that season. When Charles finally met him in person, he directly told Kelce that he thought his behavior had crossed a line.
Instead of reacting badly, Kelce laughed and admitted he understood the criticism. He explained that the Chiefs viewed the Ravens as their biggest threat and that he intentionally brought extra confidence to gain an edge.
After talking it out, Charles said Kelce turned out to be genuinely kind and easygoing. While he still roots against him on the field, he now has a lot of respect for him off it.
