Matty Healy is getting ready to share his side of the story about his brief relationship with Taylor Swift through his music. Swift’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, is believed by fans to include songs inspired by her short time with Healy. Tracks like But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty as Sin, Fresh Out the Slammer, and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived are thought to hint at their romance, which lasted for about a month in 2023, after Swift broke up with Joe Alwyn and before she started dating NFL player Travis Kelce. Swift even skipped Kelce’s game following her after-party.
Now, The Sun reports that Healy’s band, The 1975, is working on their sixth album. One song, God Has Entered My Body, is said to include the line, “Keep your head up, Princess, your tiara is falling.” An insider says that while Healy won’t talk publicly about his past relationships, he plans to express his feelings in his music.
The 1975 has not released a new album since 2022’s Being Funny in a Foreign Language, and there’s talk that they could be headlining the Glastonbury Festival this year. The band, formed in the UK, is known for mixing different music styles and writing lyrics that get fans thinking. The name The 1975 comes from Healy’s copy of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, which had a note with that date written in it by a previous owner.
While Taylor Swift has moved on, it looks like Matty Healy is ready to share his own thoughts on their relationship through his new music. Fans of both artists might soon get more clues about what happened between them.
